BAHAs or bone-anchored hearing aids are typically supplied with a single softband (or headband) from the manufacturer, however, many people find that a single headband just isn’t enough!
If your original softband gets wet or dirty or is uncomfortable to wear, or you simply want the option of a different style or colour, then you may find yourself looking for a spare or replacement BAHA headband. In which case, you’ll probably be wondering, how much do BAHA softbands cost?
Where Can I Buy a BAHA Softband?
Official spare or replacement softbands for your bone-anchored hearing aid will be available from your BAHA manufacturer. Alternatively, you can purchase a custom BAHA softband from stores such as ours, or if you’re feeling crafty, you can have a go at making a BAHA headband yourself!
BAHA Headband Pricing
If you buy a second headband from your BAHA’s manufacturer, then you will find that prices can range upwards of £45 to as much as £70 depending on the type of softband you require. If you have health insurance, this may or may not be covered.
However, for many people, this is unaffordable, particularly when parents of babies or young children may need several spare softbands just in case one gets lost or dirty. Not to mention, many of the manufacturer’s headbands are quite plain and designed to be one-size-fits-all.
For those who are looking for a more affordable alternative or different style or colour options, then custom BAHA softband prices start from just £20.
Custom BAHA Softbands
Custom BAHA softbands are available in literally hundreds of different colours and designs so the choice is yours!
Here at BAHA Accessories, we’re able to make BAHA headbands to match an outfit for a special occasion, such as a wedding or supply softbands to match a child’s school uniform. We also have cool character headbands for kids and teens. What’s more, if you can’t find something exactly right in our store, we can order in the perfect colour or pattern and can even have custom designs specially created just for you!
As well as being able to match your BAHA softband to your mood, there are lots of other benefits to opting for a custom BAHA softband. For children who may be still getting used to wearing their BAHA, a customised headband can help them see their hearing aid as a cool accessory rather than a boring medical device and give your child confidence about wearing their new hearing aid in public.
We also have a new range of wide headbands, which were specially designed to accommodate the BHM Compact Mini processor but can also be used with other types of bone-anchored hearing aid, including Cochlear BAHA, Oticon Ponto and Medel Adhear.
If you opt for one of our full headbands, you’ll need to purchase a block button connector but this can then be transferred between any of our bands in the future, meaning you can build a collection of custom softbands and easily switch your button connector between them whenever you want to change your softband.
All of our full headbands also come with a built-in safety line anchor as standard to help keep your BAHA processor safe and our BAHA softbands are fully adjustable for a comfortable fit.
