This week, we want to introduce you to our new range of wide BAHA headbands! After years of making custom BAHA headbands, we’ve just launched a brand new range of wider headbands that we hope you’ll love. Read on to find out more about what inspired our new range and why you might choose one of our new wide BAHA headbands.
What’s the Difference Between a Standard BAHA Headband and a Wide BAHA Headband?
So, just how are our new wide BAHA headbands different from our standard BAHA headbands? Well, as the name suggests, our new range of headbands are wider. Whereas our standard BAHA headbands are 1.6cm wide, the new wide headbands are 5cm at their widest point.
Unlike our standard headbands, which are made from fold-over elastic (also known as FOE), our new wide BAHA headbands are made from both fabric and elastic, so when ordering a wide headband, you will need to provide your measurements from one ear, across the top of the head to the other ear, following the line where you want your headband to sit.
Of course, there are many similarities between the two different types of BAHA headbands too. Both our standard headbands and wide headbands are fully customisable and available in a wide range of colours and designs. Both styles of headband are adjustable and can be worn by babies, children, teens and adults. All our headbands are backed with non-slip silicone and are available as a single or bilateral headband. All of our full headbands, regardless of width, come with a safety line anchor as standard.
Which of the BAHA Makes Can I Wear on a Wide Headband?
Our new wide headband range was created due to the increasing demand for BAHA headbands to suit BHM Compact Mini processors. These wider bands suit this make of BAHA much better than the standard width BAHA headbands.
After designing our new wide headband range for use with the BHM Compact Mini, we realised that wearers of other BAHA makes and models might want the option of a wider BAHA headband too, so we decided to go ahead and make them suitable for use with our button connector to give our customers the choice!
While our new, wide headband range is the best option if you use a BHM Compact Mini processor, when it comes to the other BAHA processors, such as Cochlear BAHA, Oticon Ponto or Medel Adhear, it’s simply a matter of personal preference which style of headband you choose.
If you are ordering a wide headband for Cochlear BAHA, Oticon Ponto or Medel Adhear, please be aware that a button connector is not included so you will still need to order a button connector to attach your processor to the headband.
