Oticon Ponto Replacement Soft Bands

Oticon Ponto is one of the most popular types of bone anchored hearing aids, along with Cochlear BAHA and Medel Adhear. As with any other type of BAHA, you can also wear the Oticon Ponto processor on a headband (or softband) without needing to have an implant surgically fitted. This means that you may sometimes need Oticon Ponto replacement soft bands.

Why Might I Need a Replacement Softband?

There are lots of reasons why you might need a replacement soft band for your Oticon Ponto.

If your softband gets wet or dirty then it will need to be hand washed and allowed to air dry, which can take time. Having a back-up headband to wear in the meantime, ensures that you can still use your Ponto while your original soft band is washed and dried. Similarly, you might want to have a spare headband to hand just in case your original soft band gets lost or damaged.

Another reason why BAHA wearers might want to have more than one soft band for their Ponto is for a bit of variety! Most people will be wearing their hearing device every day but may not want to wear the same colour softband every day. Thankfully, there are plenty of options for anyone looking for custom colour BAHA soft bands.

Where Can I Get a New Soft Band For My Oticon Ponto?

Replacement softbands are available from the manufacturer, Oticon Medical but these are expensive and come in a limited range of colour options. An alternative is to have a BAHA headband custom made, in a colour or design of your choosing. Here at BAHA Accessories, we make replacement headbands (or soft bands) for all the major brands of bone-anchored hearing aid, including Oticon Ponto.

Is There a Difference Between a BAHA Headband and a Ponto Softband?

BAHA simply stands for bone anchored hearing aid. This is the term most people use to describe hearing systems that use bone conduction, whether that’s a surgically implanted hearing device or one worn externally.

There are several manufacturers and models of bone anchored hearing aids and our BAHA headbands work with them all, including the Oticon Ponto system, Cochlear BAHA and Medel Adhear. You can also use our custom headbands with the BHM Contact Mini system using the connector plates from the manufacturer’s headband.

To use one of our BAHA headbands with your Oticon Ponto, you will need to make a one-off purchase of a block button connector that will allow you to attach your Ponto processor to the custom softband. This can then be used interchangeably with any of our headbands.

Our BAHA headbands work just as your original softband did, holding your Ponto processor in place and sitting securely and comfortably around your head as you get on with your everyday life. All our BAHA headbands are fully adjustable, available as single or bilateral headbands, and come with a built-in safety anchor as standard.

We also now offer a range of wider BAHA headbands that can be used with Oticon Ponto, Cochlear BAHA and Medel Adhear as well as a recently launched wider headband that works perfectly with the BHM compact mini.
